When was the last time you gave yourself a gift? 

Now, I’m not talking about a nicety here.  What I’m talking about is a real gift that lasts a lifetime and helps you to remember who you truly are, and feel your inner light!

Take a moment to close your eyes and look at the times when you are most ‘out of sync.’  You know, those times when you are driven by fear instead of love.  If you go within and really think about it, you find that the thoughts that cause you the most worry, anxiety, or stress are those that are anchored in the past or the future!

Let’s face it, we all have messages from the past that we play in our heads daily.  If we allow old, negative, messages to play in our heads over and over again, we certainly will create a belief based upon them and we will make choices that are definitely NOT in line with what we truly want in life!

These past negative messages can literally DRIVE US CRAZY,

if we allow it…

Some of these messages might sound something like this… “Money doesn’t grow on trees,”  “All the good men are taken,” “Those kinds of things don’t happen for people like us,” or “Nobody ever said life was easy kid!”  OUCH!  Those hurt even writing them out!!

If you’re feeling ‘out of sync’ and you are not focused on the past, then you just might be jumping ahead to the future, and totally full of fear…

We often focus on the future when we feel that the present moment is not enough.  These thoughts also come from the past, but they are disguised as being too concerned with the future.  For instance, if you are a person who has messages in your head regarding your worthiness, you might always look to the future to find peace, love, and acceptance.  Your thoughts might include, “Someday, I’m gonna be successful,”  “In time, I’ll be financially secure,”  “Something has to give!”

I love that ol’ sayin’, “Live for today, Dream for tomorrow, and Learn from yesterday.”  It pretty much sums up this blog post.  The gift you can give yourself today and every day is the gift of the present!  Go ahead, dream for tomorrow.  It’s all part of the beautiful process of life to dream about a better tomorrow!  You absolutely are encouraged to learn from the past.  It’s our past that brings us to who we are today, and if we do not learn from the lessons we are given, we will, unfortunately, learn them over and over until we finally ‘get it.’

Give yourself a gift…LIVE FOR TODAY and stay in the present moment!

Whenever you feel that your thoughts are stuck in the past or jumping way to far ahead, just close your eyes, take a deep breath in through your nose, and then release it slowly through your mouth.  Clear your mind.  Feel the air around you.  Take in the aromas near you.  Listen to the sounds encompassing you, then breathe in deeply and release the air slowly.  Repeat this affirmation (or another that helps you at the present moment), “I am safe.  I trust that all is well and that my highest good is happening right now, in this very moment.”  Continue breathing deeply and reciting an affirmation that works for you until you are centered in the present once again.
